Love the idea of a curb garden in Slipton!

This is great. They've made a pavement garden before, I'm sure it'll be a success

This was the application
We live in Slipton, one of the poorest wards in Saxford. A number of us have formed a group who want to create a new perception of the area by taking direct, visually recognisable action such as making public spaces greener. We want to create a herb garden at the busy corner of Catterick Street and Fishburne Lane. The garden would also contain some fruit and vegetables and would serve as a tactile and educational benefit to the children who walk through. We have already seen a positive response to our smaller ‘pavement-garden’ that we implemented last year.
We will buy 15 reclaimed scaffold planks for £8 each (£120) to build the edges of the herb garden. We need 15 cubic metres of soil costing £210. We will spend the remaining £170 on over 20 types of plants and support poles to keep them safe while they are small.
