What’s your idea for improving lives in Saxford?

Food Room is tackling food waste, food poverty and social isolation. We have taken over a space in the heart of Saxford which we are using as a community space with a focus around communal eating and a “pay as you feel” model. We used volunteer effort to get 95% of the way but we need to buy some kitchen equipment to be able to prepare meals.

How would you spend the £500?

We would purchase an ex display Exosit 659 industrial oven for £455. Normally they cost £900 but it has a slight dent on the front which doesn’t affect its working.
